Cinema Together - Balkans Beyond Borders edition!

Updated: Jan 23

ATLAS E.P. shares accessibility vibes with the 14th Interbalkan Short Film Festival "Balkans Beyond Borders - Athens Edition" through the "Cinema Together" initiative. Its aim is to emphasise the need for more and more film screenings to be accessible for everyone, so that we can be at the Cinema Together.

In the first event of "Cinema Together", Balkans Beyond Borders SFF is showing the medium-length film "We all come from somewhere", the result of a collaboration between four professional inclusive theatre groups from Greece, Ireland, Italy and Czech Republic as part of Creative Europe's POWER project (www.power-creative.eu) and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports. The film focuses on the migration crisis of recent years.

The film will be screened with subtitles and audio description for accessibility purposes by ATLAS E.P. and will be followed by a discussion on the difficulties of funding the linguistic and sensory access of films and relevant festivals in Greece. The panel will include ATLAS E.P., a representative of the Greek group of "We all come from somewhere" and representatives of official bodies related to the funding of film and accessibility initiatives.

The discussion will be interpreted in the Greek Sign Language.

Venue: The Greek Film Archive Foundation, 136 Megalou Alexandrou Str., Athens

Date and time: Sunday 14/01, 18:00

Free admission
